1980~1981 Y.S. Kim was in charge of operations and maintenance of construction equipment at a major Korean construction firm known as Samho International (currently a branch of Daelim Group), focusing on projects in Saudi Arabia.

1981~1986 Y.S. Kim accepted a role at a Saudi construction equipment rental and civil works company to promote and manage equipment of rental and civil works. Young Kim was born in Saudi Arabia.

1991 Y.S. Kim founded Cosmos Corporation, a trading company focusing on the export of used construction equipment.

1998 Awarded a USD 1 Million Export Trophy from President Kim Dae-jung.

2000s Cosmos Corporation showed continued success and secured a contract to supply approximately 70 units of construction equipment to the Hyundai Asan company for railway projects and Gaesung Industrial Complex project in North Korea. Y.S. Kim received recognition for his work in the industry and served as president of the Korea Construction Machinery Trade Association from 2010 to 2013.

2011 Young Kim joined the business, officially making Cosmos Corporation a family business.

2012 Cosmos Corporation purchased 52 units of construction equipment as a package, including 2 American Hoist 450-ton crawler cranes from Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Korea’s largest and most renowned company, after finishing their Colombo port expansion project in Sri Lanka. All units were successfully sold into the US, Taiwanese, Vietnamese and Sri Lankan markets.

2017 Exported a used tug boat to Philippines, for the first time.

2010s Business continued to expand and Cosmos Corporation began to export larger cranes and more diverse equipment to an increasing number of countries and customers. Y.S. Kim has served as a board member of the Korea International Trade Association from 2018.

2020 Exported a Demag CC6800 1,250-ton crawler crane, the biggest crane we exported ever.

2021 Exported USD 10 million of used construction equipment, including 8 all-terrain cranes of 500-ton, 400-ton and 300-ton capacities. Experienced continued business success for over 30 years.

2022 Cosmos Corporation obtained sales rights for LIEBHERR tower cranes in Korean market.

2023 Exported a used passenger vessel, for the first time.
